Lambing season at Triple D Livestock LLC streched from October all thr way through Christmas Day, makign for a long, demanding, and unforgetable season. Those months tested our endurance, patience, and dedication as we worked through Missouri's dropping temeratures and the challenges that come wtih late-year lambing.
Starting in October, the days were still managebale, but as fall turned into winter, the work intensified. Each passing month brough colder nights, harder winds, and the need for closer monitoring of our ewes and the newborn lambs. Bu the time December arrives, lambing meant bundling up for the nighttime checks, while trying to battle the hot temperatures during the days and the cold temperatures through the night, making sure every lamb had a warm, safe start to life.
Missouri winters are unpredictable, and lambing through late fall and early winter requires constant attention. Extra bedding, well maintained shelters, and frequent checks became part of our daily routine. Feed rations were adjusted to support ewes through the cold, and newborn lambs were closely monitored during those critical first hours when the temperatures mattered most.
Lambing didnt stop for holidays, and Christmad Day was no exeption. While many were gathered indoors celebrating, we were still in the barns, doing what needed to be done. It was a reminder that livestock care doesnt take days off, and that commitment is at the heart of what we do at Triple D Livestock LLC.
There were plenty of long nights and early mornings throughout the season, especially as winter settled in. But every healthy lamb on the ground made the effore worthwhile. Each successful birth reinforced the importance of preperations, experience, and a hands on approach to livestock management.
As kambing season came to a close after Christmas, we reflected on the challenges we faces and the progress we made. Making it through months of lambing in cold Missouri weather is no small accomplishment, and we're proud of the resilience of both our flock and our operation.
Now, as we look ahead to the next season, we carry forward the lessons learned form October through Christmas Day. At Triple D Livestock LLC, perseverance isn't just part of lambing season, its part of who we are.
